What if someone, who already has and old school theme going (rims, emblems, etc...), put vinyl on their top?
Picture a t-top car or a hardtop car with vinyl covering the black areas:
...like old school cars:
and some more pics for reference:
I know some people will read this post with DISGUST but I think it could be a cool mod IF IT WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY !
Hell, just imagine a new Dick Harrel car with vinyl
If I had a car with a "bubbling roof" I would do it in a heartbeat

They put those stupid vinly roofs on justa bout anything...not just Caddies and Lincolns, not even Camrys and Accords are safe, but then again, I live in "Gods waiting room" (aka Florida), so the older folks really dig that look.
I'd never even consider putting that on my car....I'd rather put up with the bubbles!

It actually wouldn't be all that hard for a shop to do. I get what your sayin & it would definetly be a unique mod & something you wouldn't see everyday. I would only consider it on a dark colored car & in black material. Not to mention the car would have to be a garage queen that only came out for cruises & shows.
It could look good if done properly on the right colored car. You would definetly have to leave any kinda trim off so the panel would look wrapped & smoother.
