Default Has anyone seen this code when trying to flash a remanufactured 98 PCM?

Message reads: "may be a service PCM" & will not accept the program from the existing PCM.

You will probably have to flash back to an oem os using a tech 2 before it will allow you to do anything with it. It all depends on what program you are using.

Thanks for the comments. Dealership says they have no bench connector & no way to connect to the PCM if not mounted in the car. The tunner installed an OEM program despite the "may be a service PCM" message. After OEM intall, the PCM would not accept my existing file. I don't know if P0601 (memory error) code was set w/ message. Will ask the tuner on Monday.

More general information:

-PCM acquired from Pace performance through their supplier. Pace has not run into this type of issue w/any remanufactured PCM's. Although, they normally flash stock programs into remanufactured PCM's once mounted in the car.
-Tuner is experienced & is working out of a professional race shop that has been in business for over 30 years.
-Am not sure what program is being used. Any suggestions as to what could be done using LS1 edit or Hp2....etc.?

Currently, the plan is to get another PCM & try again. Am hoping suggestions here (LS1 tech) will lead to a solution that corrects the issue before the new PCM arrives.

Update:

The PCM is working. The PCM was mounted in the car & has accepted my custom program. Have no idea why it wouldn't accept my tune while on the bench.

As always; thank-you & your comments are always appreciated.
