I don't know about the issues on the rear. The back should be pretty straight forward. Drop the threaded sleeve into the circular perch on the rear and put the spring in with the rubber top.

The fronts were an issue. The threaded sleeve will not slide past the large circular metal housing the adjuster window is in. You have to GRIND the outside of the housing the adjuster window is in so you can slide the threaded sleeve past it.

I talked to Koni about this and they said you could send the threaded sleeve and the strut to them and they would dissassemble it and slide the sleeve on and than re-install everything. I just ground mine down and assembled it.

I ran mine without the dust sleeves and I used the rubber bump stops that came with the kit.

Glenn
P.S. Sorry no pictures of the struts ground down.

You can also take the upper hat off the shock rod. If you turn the shock upside down you'll see a 15/16" jam nut under the hat. You can modify a 15/16" socket by grinding a groove in it to go over the shock rod and engage the nut, or you can pick up a 15/16" deep offset wrench and grind an opening in it. That's what I used to take mine off. I was more comfortable grinding on my trusty $15 wrench from Sears than my shiny new shocks. If you do decide to take the hat off the shock, take the black dust boots and trim two inches off the bottom so they don't get crushed by the Ground Control sleeves when the car is lowered off the jack. Most people just take them off, but I'd rather use them. With the rear, your springs may be too long. It's possible they sent the wrong ones; the new ones should be at least 3-4 inches shorter than the stock ones.

No, the adjuster sits inside the shock rod. Taking the hat off won't affect it.

I ended up using the grinder route. I didn't have a vice, and the custom Craftsman wrench I bought only started splaying when trying to loosen the nut under the hat.

Maybe some photos and homemade tool designs will help:
