Default SD tune for a street car......or keep the MAF

First off all, does anyone make a 105mm MAF?

I want to use a 105mm TB with the sheet metal intake.

But if a SD tune will work perfectly for a street driven car with no issues I'll just do that and there's nothing more to look into.

If not, I need a 105 MAF.

It will, but I would change to a 99+ PCM.

So, If I were to get a 99+ PCM I could remove my MAF sensor completely on my Camaro and use SD tuning? or am I misunderstanding something?

You CAN run SD on a 98, the PCM is just kinda lacking compared to later years in lots of areas.

Sorry, I'm just getting started tuning using HPTuners and have been reading several docs but I'm still getting everything figured out so I want to be clear....

If I remove my MAF Sensor it's going to set a DTC (which I can permentaly ignore), I can then use the Main VE tables (both Primary and Secondary) to control my fuel trims rather than it using the MAF Sensor? This will allow me to breath in more air, in turn allowing me to be able to add more fuel, correct?

Not really.... The MAF isn't a proven restriction until the 500+ hp range. Also, without a custom OS you will be limited to the low resolution of the secondary table. If you are just getting started, stick with your MAF.

Buy and use a wideband; don't tune without one

It seems that a SD tune would make more sense in some areas, but in other areas it may be more of a pain in the ***.

In FL where I wnt to school the weather year round only swings in temperature around 30-40 degrees at the most

where as in New England where I am from the temperature swings in temp around 100 degrees and can change in temp from one day to another 20 degrees easily.. I would think this would wreak havoc on a street driven SD tuned car.

Where is this 105 at? Is it for the ls1? All I can seem to find is a 105 for the mustang on accufab's site. I also cannot find the 100mm tb on lingenfelters site. Anyone know if you can port out a fast 90 for one of these things?

Not at all if you know what to do.I've probly got 4-5 2 bar SD cars/trucks out there with 750+rwhp running great. The temp changes do not change the tunes.
