a pair of boots lasting 9 years? must medical/admin, im on my 2nd set of boots in a year....

Yea, we replace boots about every 6 months on the flightline.

Im a Woodland SAR team leader. These are my dress BDU boots. I have some hi-techs that have seen MUCH better days that are the flight line/boonies boots.

I seem to go thru 1 pair of boots in a year and 2 pairs of coveralls in a year.

The longest I've had a set of boots last me was 4 years. I got rid of my techschool boots about a year ago. I'm CE, so for a set of boots to last that long is somewhat unheard of. Talk about worn the fk out!

Are the soles gone? Do you use your hands to set the brakes on stands? If you still daily drive those boots it might be a record. I get a new pair every time I can.


On a side note, I cant wait for the new uniforms so boot shining or polishing is a thing of the past.

yes the souls are gone and they have several cuts dont to the steel toe but i still wear them

ya ive had a set that lasted 8 years til the Marine Corps went with the new cammies and suede boots. i used to use warm water use a good base of parade gloss or kangaroo then follow it with neutral. mirror shine every time.

Well I took them to a shoe shine guy that I know and he fixed it but now its the other one thats doing it HAHAHA.
