Who thinks someone should make an aftermarket center mount exhaust for the Camaro??
I know I love them and I'm not alone...every time I see a thread about the center mount exhaust on a 98-02 Camaro, no matter what the reason for the post, there are a dozen or more people going "sell me your cme, PLEASE!"
I also think that almost $1,000 for a USED exhaust system is sheer LUNACY!
So I figured maybe we should all get together and shout out about how much we love the exhaust system and maybe, MAYBE someone will repro a similar one for less money...because lord knows they're not worth the arm and leg everyone asks.
I'd like to see someone make the tips/body kit extention for about $500 or less, seeing as that's realistically the MAX it should go for...probably costs like $90 to produce.
Anyway, post up and maybe someone will hear our prayers...

The valance is already in the works and we should see something in about 2-3 weeks. The valance is probably only $90 to produce but the mold is what is expensive. Also the tips I can guarantee are not $90 to produce. You need a mold ofr those as well, if you want them to look like the originals. I've been looking into having them made and so far have only looked to metal fabricators and exhaust shops. No one wants to touch the project. My best bet is with a metal caster in alumimum.

I'd just have someone fab up the piping and the valence and just make it so you can use vette tips. There are pleanty of them out there and it will allow people to get the look they want. I think the standard CME tips look like @$$.

JOSHUA was working on it. There was a thread about it a while back and in a nutshell he said "He was going through a divorce and he had way too many irons in the fire to even start on a project of this magnitude". If I am wrong feel free to correct me.

"YEAAAAA WE NEED CME AGAIN I WOULD TOATALY BUY ONE... for200andthatspreppedandprimedCOUGH"
Granted, nobody is that unreasonable, but I think this is why you don't see companies flocking to make everything we've ever desired on our cars, from DH-imitation kits to CME valences with tips. It's good to see both of these things slowly coming to bear on the market, but I sure hope that for everybody who wants one, at LEAST half would actually buy one for what they're really worth.

Forget SLP. They are the most over-rated performance maker in the LSX world.
I too love the CME package on these Camaros. I've only seen one in person and it looked sick! True dat. Someone needs to come across and mass-produce these items.
To NightWindDrifter:
That is what a business is. There is never a guarantee that it will be successful and stick. If you are contemplating to mass-produce an item, you will have to think about the demand and the price of producing. If there is no demand, no profit. If price of producing will incur no profit, even if there is demand; no go. If it was guaranteed, we'd all be in "business."
