So i was at Kohls today buying some new shoes and happened upon some bath towels. These were no ordinary towels, they were the "premium" ones, they were labeled as microfiber, they caught my attention, they really felt like high quality microfibers. i am considering purchasing them to try for detailing, the seem extremely nice. They are a bit pricey, but i don't like the chamois for drying and one large microfiber bath towel would be great. Anyone out there ever tried these or something like them?

Yea, I agree. The chamois seemed rough to me. Sounds like you are anal about detailing like me. If so, I recommend blow drying the car. I hate that part about a car wash; the drying stage.

Well my other wonder is that there are cheap microfibers and good microfibers but i really don't know how to compare these to the 5 for two dollars cloths vs. the good ones that can run like ten dollars.

I wouldn't use bath towels from Kohls on my car no matter what they say. Get some Cobra ones from Autogeek.

I think you will be just fine with those, but don't forget to remove the little plastic tags that come on them. If you like how those work, you may want to consider getting some premium quality wipes.

Google "white waffle microfiber drying towel"
you can dry your whole car without wringing it out once. For black, I reccomend two to keep ALL smudges off but they usually don't show up till the end.

That is actually a really good idea i've been trying to think of something to test them on.
