This is a ridiculous thread. If you don't have one single good response in 24 hours, I'm locking this thread and giving you a one week vacation for starting another worthless thread. Good luck.

What the **** are you talking about? He asked a question...and you are gonna ban him because you deem his question "ridiculous and worthless"? Wow...now that's customer service. Way to rep the mods, Pat!

You MIGHT find some crazy person running a nasty BBC setup that uses an .800 lift roller setup on the street, for a few miles a year. Other than that, no way. Why in the world would you want something like that?

^^^ Yep. I know several guys around here with some nasty BBC cars that have 800+ lift but they are adjusting their valves damn near every time they take their cars out. But they DO get street driven every weekend LOL.

It might be retarded to those of us that KNOW better, but to somebody who doesn't, how are they gonna learn when the mods treat them like **** without enlightening them? It's called customer service, and I'd think a site like this deserves a little bit more from it's MODS and it's members.

First off, the thread says 100% streetable. That's the ridiculous part about it. If you know anything about running this kind of lift on a small block, you'll know what kind of valves, valve springs, rockers, cylinder heads and camshafts you'll have to run. It's not the kind of stuff you run in a 100% street car. My beef is that Quicken is notorious for starting worthless, ridiculous threads about pie in the sky combinations that nobody would ever think of running. This thread takes the cake. Threads like this push worthwhile threads to the bottom of the stack and THAT is a dis-service to board members. How about THAT for customer service?

He has been a member since 2001. Really, you want to play that card in this situation?

Might be ridiculous to you, not to me. What part is ridiculous anyway? Me and my builder spoke with Cary at ET yesterday at length about using his canted valve heads, different intakes, combos and specific parts, for my 454 LSX build. MY CAR IS A 100% STREET CAR. My builder is concerned about that much lift on the street so I'm asking on a General Motors forum where LSx type engines are used quite a bit, to see if anyone has done this with any success.

My builder has two LSX builds going right now, a 2,000hp single turbo 450ci and a 454ci for a Vette owner....................................mine is next after he completes these two. I'm trying to look into every option.

So, again, whats so ridiculous???

Oh, and so I'm not called a liar, which I'm sure is coming:

sorry patrick , but i think you are wrong here and abusing your power a little bit, he may start ridiculous threads, but this one to me isnt, its a legitimate question to me, even though he should already know the answer to the question already.

as far as my answer sure you "could" do it , but keep extra valve springs in your trunk, as long with the tools needed to swap them. its really not a good idea, this is why force induction is so popular in high HP street apps.

With all do respect.

You need to read and understand what my thread title says........I didn't say 100% streetable, that would be plain stupid. I said that ...MY CAR IS A 100% STREET CAR.

You guys should chill...

Tell him why .800-.900 is not streetable in LS1Tech matter instead of being a *****...

Curious to see how big of jump you were going. If you are staying with the 436 I wouldn't go to the .800 range as it would be overkill.

Geez, that was hard to say guys!

To use the full advantage of the canted valve heads I see you need to run .800 lift and higher, I was wondering if anyone has had success with that in a 100% street car (NOT 100% STREETABLE). My builder said he would rather me not do this but **** changes so frequently in this industry I want to hear if anyone is doing it with success.

Thats all. I'm well aware the LS7's ported to the hilt would do quite nice also at .650-.700 lift.

Geez, this is pretty funny.

Thanks for chiming in.

No, I'm actually giving my 436 to a friend, for free. I'm having a 454ci LSX built and I want to simply build it to the extreme for what I want (roll racing ONLY) yet at the same time have it last for at least 1 year.

Dare I say, I'm having a TT engine built pretty soon by a different builder.

This 454 LSX is replacing my 436 in my current WS6 T/A. I will stay N/A + spray. My builder (454 N/A engine) already told me that the spring pressures will be so high at that lift that it just will not last long, he said 1 month. So I won't be doing it.

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried and what were the results and the parts used.

And thanks for the intelligent repsonse within 24 hours, I guess I won't get banned for asking a question a mod doesn't like
