Default I am retarded. (broke antenna)

So, I decided to wash my car. I was in a hurry and the wash it yourself place had an out of order change dispenser. So I figured a BP Car Wash with a fill up would work.

I pull through and sit in there. I had the freaking radio on quietly and didn't know. I pull out of the place and see my antenna hanging off to the side. It looks like it dropped the whole damn housing into the freakin quarterpanel. (hole with antenna sticking out)

UPDATE:
Got the new antenna. I see exactly what I need to mount it from the inside.

On the downside, my exterior piece is missing. =(

pics:

What's the best way to fabricate a mount? or should I just go buy one? =(

Didn't look like it. And I couldn't tell the radio was on because the display goes crazy and just shows random crap half the time.

I'm not sure if you can see it if you take the rear interior apart or not.

My buddy's antenna got turned at an angle from my apt gate (the lever that goes up and down once the gate opens). He didn't go through fast enough, and I guess it came down and took his antenna. When I went to check it out, we pulled off his rear panel, and the bolt and nut that holds the antenna was laying by where his spare tire went. You may be able to get it back into place, but I was unable to get his antenna 100% back in the hole. The good thing is his antenna still goes up and down, but it looks like crap because you can tell it is not all the way in. Maybe this will help when you take a better look at it.

You need to go to the dealer and get a replacement antenna mast.Yes , if you remove the interior panel , you'll have complete access to the antenna motor. Should be a thread around here on how to reinstall the mast . you can't reuse the old mast , the base is broken off. The mast is the actual part that lifts and lowers when you turn the radio on and off.

The antenna is all GM , not a bit like aftermarket power units. They're not too expensive , if memory serves though.

I just swapped out both power antenna's on both my 99 ta's and the cheapest i found is $75 from a local f body junkyard. be careful if you decide to dissasemble the antenna to "fix" it. one of mine would retract too far down, about a half inch, and the other wouldn't work at all. I managed to fix both of them so all isn't lost. if your sheetmetal isn't damaged (quarter panel) then you're in good shape. i'll take take a look at mine tonight to see if i remember how i fixed them. your main concern to salvage the antenna is to make sure the lower parts of the mast itself isn't bent. would cause binding.
Does the motor try to operate at all?

btw if you have any pics of where the mast attaches to the motor that would be helpful. DON'T pull the motor assy apart! you'll end up dropping 2 copper brushblocks that are only held in place by motor shaft, they have 2 tiny ink pen size springs that keep them pressed against the shaft and if you pull the shaft out it's a bitch getting that all back together. you'll end up needing an extra double jointed hand to get it back together!! headache

From the looks of your pics, that thing is fubar. Since you already have a new antenna i guess your problem is solved. i would just get the peice you need for the outside from gm (new) and be done with it.
