i want to build a ls2 forged 408 motor what would be the best bet buy a low mileage Ls2 motor and build it with all forged parts or just start from scratch and buy brand new block etc...

I don't think you can get a 408 LS2? I may be wrong though. I thought the 408's were LQ9 Iron blocks. If it were me, I'd start from scratch and do it right the first time. That's what I did. Shoot me a PM if you want details on my 402 set up.

^ yup. You get 402 cubes out of an ls2 stroker. The 408 is the iron block.
Cleanest way is to just buy a new short block and go from there. Lots of our vendors sell them. Texas Speed, LG and tons more.
