Default back seat removal

Has anyone removed their rear seat and rear seat belt housings? Did it turn out to be a good idea? Was there much increase in cabin noise? Any pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

you might want to try a search for rear seat delete, theres threads about them every so often and quite a few people have done them. anyhow, i removed mine for a while, it was a little louder inside but didnt really bother me, its easy enough to remove the seats themselves (4-8 bolts i think) so if you want to see if you dont mind the noise its not a pain. some people dont like how it looks without the seats so there are quite a few diferent ways people make covers, one that i liked was a thin board (or cardboard, dont remember the specifics) with carpet glued/stapled to it.

did not notice a difference after removing them including seat belts and all hardware. Unless you have some sort of plugs to fit, I would suggest putting the bolts that hold the seat belts to the floor back in or else you will have holes.

Depending on what kind of exhaust you have it can increase cabin noise.

I'm actually putting the finishing touches on my rear seat deletes tomorrow after I get off work.

I've made the delete kit and everything is cleaned up and ready for the final install tomorrow after the carpet goes on. I'll snap some pics of the box before and after carpet as well as the car before and after installation to help ya out.

No extra noise without the seats...then again it's not stock...or quiet...and it has dynomat. I guess my car is a bit different than yours so it's like apples to oranges.

unless you have a roll cage or you REALLY want that little weight reduction.... i don't think its worth it. i did it in my z28 and it was cool for a week or so but unless you fill it up with a filler box of some kinda i think it looks tacky.

what does it exactly do in terms of bracing the car? do you have to drill holes for it to bolt up?

You dont have to drill holes....but you do loose the rear seat belts

As far as bracing it basically is like a strut tower brace for the rear
