Around 3k RPM's it starts missing/breaking up. I'm not real sure how to explain it because I let off as soon as it starts doing it. I've probably only gone to 3500-4k and I've never gone past 75% throttle. I was just starting out around 1500-2k RPM's in second gear and giving it 50-75% throttle. It pulls hard till around 3k then it just falls on its face and I let off.

The car has an intank Walbro 340, 75# injectors, new fuel filter, new plug wires, TR6 plugs. The tune is just a mail order tune from exotic performance plus.<<<GREAT PLACE TO DEAL WITH>>>

The car has the mods in my sig and it was running great untunned untill I installed the D1SC kit. LM-1 wideband needs o2 bung welded to exhaust but is hardwired and ready to go otherwise. EFI Live should be here tomorrow or first of next week but I don't even know where to start on tunning it.

Do you guys think it is in the tune? Engine wise the only thing that has been changed from before is the plugs and injectors.

The car needs a real tune...... usually a mail order tune is used just to get the car running, to get its full potential your going to want a full out tune to your car specifically.

definately the tune, I had very similar situations with my mods and the base maggie tune. In my case it needed more fuel at the mid throttle range area, and a bit of adjustment to the timing.

I gapped them to .30

Are these injectors high impedance or low impedance??

They are hi impediance injectors. When you get your EFI Live, we can go through some of the tables with you. Is it throwing any codes at all? Bob

Yes, check engine light came on when I got about a mile away from home. I had started it up and warmed it up a few times before I drove it and the light wasn't on.

Like superman said, the tune is pretty much a rough tune to scale for injectors and drivability, a dyno tune is a MUST for FI.

Thats cool, I'm just glad that it IS the tune. I bought a laptop, LM-1, and EFI Live because I never expected a mail order tune to work correctly and I wanted to learn how to do it myself. EFI Live came in the mail today. I just got off of work so I'm about to open the box and get it set up on my laptop. I don't have the o2 bung welded into the exhaust yet so I won't be able to get started on the tune this weekend. Lots of learning to do.

Mod, you can move this to the tuning section if you see fit.

Well I got everything installed on my laptop and played around with it in the car a little. I pulled the codes and the only thing that really concerned me was the P0300 missfire code. I looked up the pids and did some recordings and it appears to me that the missfires are random. Sounds like a normal small cammed car to me at idle. When the rpm's drop a little and the car "lopes", missfires will jump way up for all cylinders.

It also had a TP sensor out of range or something like that code. I figure it is because it doesn't always return completely back to idle. Every since I ported the TB it will hang up every now and then and make the car idle 100-200 rpm higher than normal. I think I probably need to tighten up the return spring another round. A quick tap of the gas makes it idle normally again. The other codes were emissions related from taking out the Air system and not having rear 02's.

I'm not saying it CAN'T be the tune, But, EPP did my Tune the same way and It's Pretty damn close to perfect. I would check that the Plugs and Wires you just replaced are ok. Were any dropped during installation- Cracked Ceramic or maybe closed the Gap. Just my two cents. Brent @ EPP Did a super job with my tune, could'nt be happier

I'm going to go with it being the tune. I was very careful with the plugs when I was changing them. They were all gaped correctly and none were dropped. EFI Live shows the missfires to be random and I doubt I messed them all up.

I've been reading all day and I'm still not sure where to start with tuning. It seems like everything I read just starts off right in the middle.

I just installed mine, I had a slp MAF on the car. It did the same thing you are saying yours did. No codes. I changed back to stock and that it took care of the problem! I thought it was a bad MAF, but maybe it had something to do with the different injectors.

The aftermarket maf's ususally create problems, I don't recommend them. Bob
