Default Rumbling, Shaking, please look. Getting me worried

A while ago I started getting this rumble and shaking in the car at idle, like sitting at a stop light or drive through it would just randomly vibrate every few seconds enough to rumble the whole car. Recently it's intensified, I can get on the throttle and at certain throttle inputs the car will shake, almost like somebody is feathering the throttle ever so slightly up and down. If I put the right throttle input in I can get it to backfire, at least it sounds like a backfire, but quieter. Or I can just get on the throttle hard and power through it and it will go away. In any case, it's startin to worry me and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what it might be?

Surprised it's not throwing any codes, not driving around with a permanent SES on are you?

Took it to autozone today to diagnose it. Cylinder 8 misfire. guy said either spark plugs or spark plug wires. What do you guys recommend for plugs on an LS1?

It's not too bad if you get everything out of the way and don't have huge forearms. Never working out really paid off for me when I was able to change my plugs without any problems.

Thanks guys, I've read alot about the TR-55's here and am probably going that route. Don't know much about the TR-6 though, anyone got info on it? What makes it different or better than the TR-55? Thanks

Check this thread. Shows a good tool combo for changing #8.

Don't know how long you've had the car or if you bought it from someone. Sometimes people, even shops, skip replacing that #8 plug because it's hard to do. Don't be intimidated by what is said about how hard it is. It's not that hard, just a little frustrating the first time. Read up on it and dive in.

the tr6 is a colder plug. its gapped at .035 and is better used for nitrous/blower applications. so definately go with the tr55's and if you change the wires go with the MSD's.
