Well we did a throttle body bypass earlier this week and we're hopefully gonna race the TA this weekend and we've heard it'll make the TA go a bit faster and we're wondering if it really will or if its just some kind of TA myth...

I doubt it will make any difference

It's a proven power gain, dynos around +6hp and 10tq. Don't listen to JB, he runs a LS1 :jest:

Come post in the LT1 section.

You can have the tune I made form my 93 and then you can get it burned to a chip and put it in. If you need emissions, I can turn all that stuff back on. If you put headers and stuff on, you'll want to have it retuned by someone who knows more about how that effects things. Alvin at PCM For Less is supposedly the man :)

you see the difference when the engine gets hotter, better throttle response and of course more pull in the mid and high end. Its no 100 shot, but its a good cheap mod

how much does this affect people that drive their cars in the winter times with temperatures below freezing because i iknow that this collant going through the TB is so it doesnt freeze up... anybody?

I've never had any issues in the cold.

Guess I was wrong

On the Ls1 cars of 5 I have seen it done too it makes not power gain on back to back dyno runs and even allowing the car to cool then re dynoing there was no difference..

+1 Me either. Not on my TPI or LT1.

LT1s are just better like that lol :jest:

you also have to factor in the plastic (aka composite) intake manifold, no heat conduction, so it probably does get that hot to begin with, and that hot is a relative term

Basically the reason why GM made the lines run through the t-b were for older ppl, and families/ so when its cold out and you need the heater on the car will warm up faster. haha . naw its the truth though. if you do the bypass, your car will run cooler from what its used to. the only thing i did notice that when i was driving on a cooler night and i turned my heater on just took about 5-10 more minutes too get the air coming out nice and warm haha. im not sure how much exact hp it gives you but overall i just know it performs better because simply the lines dont run through ur throttlebody which gets hot as hell .. :D

p.s. i hear that if you do the bypass on a honda, you get a 10 second car! AND then if u add a sticker that advertises it.. 9.5 sec! spinning!~
