01 SS with 60k miles, k&n filter, diablosport predator weld in flowmasters from axle....

315rwhp/331rwtq

in 101 degree weather with 35% humidity.
car had been sitting in the sun 100* so the motor was hot.

some interesting points -
one of the "connection pipes" from headers to exhaust is crimped about a 25% of the way???
the car was detonating up top?? or pulling timing or something...as the dyno kinda gets bumpy like rolling hills up top....

Seems like the dyno was high considering the cars pulling timing, detonating, and the basic mods. Any ideas?? Leave the crimped pipe (possibly causing an optimal level of backpressure of something)? what to do about the detonation or any ideas about whats causing it. THANKS GUYS.

:chug:

I would like to see pictures of this alleged crimped pipe.

i think he's talking about the stock y-pipe on the driver side... and YES!!! change it and do a complete CIA. they do the crimping of the pipe for the driver side of the motor to heat up as wuick as the passenger side.

the detonation is a common issue from what ive seen with 01's... i put down 310 RWHP in an automatic 2001 Z28 that was knocking like a SOB on the dyno. i ended up selling the car a week later cause i didnt wanna deal with it :jest:

Use the live data menu in the Predator to see if there is KR present at WOT, and if so, back down the timing a few %.

Ive noticed that with the addition of a cold air kit, a lot of the LS1's detonate. A buddy of mine put an FIPK on his otherwise stock 99 camaro, needless to say it began detonating really bad up top. When we put some MSD wires and NGKTR-55's in it, it shut right up.
