im doing a cam swap and the orange gaskets behind the water pump broke off. ive been told by others to just use the grey rtv sealant instead of buying a new seal and gasket kit.....is this what everyone else is doin? just wanted to make sure before i put it all back together, dont wanna have to take this stuff apart again. i was also going to do this for the timing chain cover.

I used water pump gaskets. They're like $1.
