Default reluctor on 2006 5.3 lm7

I think I really f'ed up!. I have a motor swap/install scheduled for my truck tomorrow, the 2006 lm7 5.3 coming out, a modified 2004 lq4 going in. I never once gave the reluctor 24x or 58x a thought. I've read conflicting posts regarding which reluctor the 5.3l lm7 '06 has. I know what the lq4 has. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks

i thought the ls2 is the different reluctor, and the lq4 ls1 lm7 lq9 used the same.

I don't know for sure, but I would venture to guess that it is the 24X wheel. My understanding is that the 58X didn't come out until the LS2 in 2005, and I the LM7 was created years before that. I am pretty sure the LQ4 has the 24X, and being that they are both in the same truck, they would want them to be the same electronically because it would save GM tons of money versus having 2 different engine computers for the same model.

I went to several dealerships a few weeks back and the parts guys were absolutely clueless without part numbers. (not nearly as bad as getting a voltage regulator for my friend's 65 mustang though. I told the guy at Checker it was for a 289 Ford, and his reply was V6 or V8. lol)

Hopefully you find out soon though. I blew the engine in my Z06 and I made myself a promise that if I ever pulled the engine it wasn't going back in as a stock LS6. I was tossing around the idea of a junkyard LM7 in the Vette so I could still drive it and take my time repairing/modifying my LS6.

If it does end up being different, you can buy a box from Lingenfelter that will convert the 58X signal to a 24X signal.
