Z06 coupe conversion?
ok i want a z06. But i prefer the looks of the coupe. I dont think it would be worth doing a conversion on a rugular coupe but i found a wrecked z06 for $8,000. It was hit in the back no damage other than its missing the rear quarter panels and the rear bumper is damaged and the back windshield is cracked. So since im replacing the quarter panels, bumper, trunk, glass etc, can i just bolt on all the back peices of a factory targa and have a hard top slant back z06? has it been done before? i know the trunk and stuff is different but i could probably just customize it.

Its wrecked but nothing was damaged blah blah read above lol. i just found out carravagio or whatever has a z06 coupe conversion for only $16,000!!!! lol but i want to do it myslef so....

a wrecked Z for 8000... Whats the repair cost? Also how will you feel when a coupe with 2K of mods blows by you?
I myslef would by the wrecked Z and add twin T's to the stock LS6 while I had the body apart and before a new paint job. There may be hidden frame damage. They know soemthing that you do not since they are asking only 8K.

oh ok now i kind of see the confusion. I have no car currently, my trans am was stolen about a month ago. there isnt any frame damage garunteed and im getting it only for 8 becuase its at an insurance auction but my dad has a vip preferred package there where he can browse the cars and make an offer and state farm said theyd accept 8k. They let my dad take it and have it inspected at the body shop we do all our business through. The guy said it just needed new panels but he didnt know about the conversion.

I'm curious about this as well. I like the look of the coupe over the z06. If an individual was to do this on their own, what'd be needed for the conversion? Sail panel, hatch, fenders, bumper? I don't see how a cosmetic conversion like this could run $15,000.

ok well now that were all on the same page finally, lol, we need to find someone with some experience here. I think if you were to go to the local recycler it shouldnt cost more than doing a 98+ conversion on an lt1. maybe ill have to be the pioneer here. If caravaggios charges 15000 then most likely it costs around 2000
