Default Converter Not Locking UP???

i have a FLT Stage 4 4L60e trans with a Yank SS400 converter. everything has worked fine on the car since i have had the setup and Speed Inc tuned the trans.

recently i have been getting the P0757 code. I talked with Chuck at FLT and he said that the converter sometimes throws this code and to delete it out of the system.....this has been done.

my problem is that for the last couple of weeks while i have been throwing the code my converter is not locking up. there are no SES lights on currently.

what could be causing this problem?

Describe the rest of your setup...motor, etc. could be missfires causing the converter to unlock.

running dart heads and mild cam (228/230 about 571 lift), 78mm FAST intake, kooks headers, gmmg, basic bolt ons.

i was thinking the misfires also, but it was locking up for the first 5 months that i had the trans/converter setup in the car.

the codes started poping up a couple of weeks ago.....they are now deleted....and the converter doesnt lock up anymore.

let me know if you need to know any other specifics.

I know you don't want to hear this but I would pull that tranny / converter and field strip it. If it locked up no problem for the first few weeks and now it is not...then I don't see a tuning issue. The heat/slippage will only last for so long before...boom.

pull it before it ***** the bed and takes something else with it. People always put off pulling the tranny until it's rubbish and the cost of repair goes WAAAAAYYYYY up...

I still dont see how it could be the trans or the converter.....they are both less than a year old, were built to handle my setup, and were broken in properly.

has anyone had issues with FLT Transmissions or Yank converters?

FLT and Yank are both quality outfits with quality products and reputations. **** happens, you can control the amount of dammage by pulling it and inspecting it as soon as possible. Have you sprayed?
