I'm guessing the switch itself is worn out, my 98 got to be like that and I had to replace the switch.

Hopefully it is just the switch. You say your window motor is 6mo. old? Did you buy the el cheapo one off ebay or spring for the upgraded one. I've heard people sometimes have issues with the cheap $20.00 one. I replaced mine with the $50.00 one and have had no issues in the last year since I put it in.

It is far more likely that the window motor is gone again than that the switch is bad. But it's easy to test...use a test light or multimeter to check for power output on the light blue and tan wires at the switch when you use it. The output should change polarity when the switch goes from the up position to the down position.

damn this just happened to me too. mine goes down fine but then gives up after going back up a few inches. if i leave it alone for about 10 min, it will go up another inch or so and then it needs a break again before it will go up anymore; so it takes me like 30 min to put the window all the way up. is that the motor?

will one from the other working window fit on the driver side...that would help narrow down what piece you need.. mine stops working to sometimes mainly conviently when im about to pull out of the staging lanes, up to the christmas tree and need to roll my window up..but I wait a cupple seconds and it usually works again..

Interesting how many people are ready to replace parts based on assumptions rather than taking a few minutes to test. You could be right...it may be the switch...but why not test it to be sure instead of guessing?

If you need to replace the switch it is the part in the second picture - the first part is just the harness connector.

EDIT: If you have a 97-02 Camaro, the switch part number is 10402842 - about $16 retail.

My $ is that it's the thermal coupling (which is in the motor itself).
My suggestion is that if it is the case consider bypassing it or get a new motor. No matter what you do, use the Autotrix kit on both windows to prevent this from happening again.

Are you sure it was just the switches? I'd bet $10 if you leave the car parked outside in the sun again you'll find the motor is the culprit...
