Default best gear for C5 on the bottle

What is the best gear for my C5 6 speed stroker on a 250 shot?

I have been told that the stock 3.42 gear would work best on the bottle.

This will be used on 1000ft and 1/4 mile drag.

any help would be appreciated

I'm only spraying 100 but the 3:42 feels just right!!! The 1-2 and 2-3 shifts come pretty quick when you're spraying.

I'm running the stock gears with my 402 + 150 shot set up. No problems here!

I am replacing my rear diff so right now it won't cost any more to change gears.

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to stay with the 3.42

I bought a NEW Z06 3.42 rear diff and replaced the long shaft with a 300mm shaft. GM has a 12/12 warranty on there diffs.

Thanks for all the input and help on this issue guys.

Problem is solved for now.

Wouldn't a Z06 Transmission be advantageous due to the very high low gear ratio . It would seem so with the closer ratios keeping the engine right in the middle of its power band. I know the RPM's drop very little between gear changes & I've heard that the Z06 transmissions are very heavy duty and robust & have been compared to the now famous M22 rock crusher .
