About the same in my opinion.
The LS2 has a slightly larger bore, so it probably has an advantage there, plus it'll probably cost you less $$$ (since the LS6 was limited production and the LS2 is regular production).
The LS6's advantage is it has a slightly better valvetrain already installed (lighter valves), but that's the kind of thing that would likely get upgraded anyway. Heads are basically the same castings, though....
Like I said, I think its a wash, potential-wise. But the LS2 should set you back less $$$.

there is a place to get LS6 and LS2 crate engines the LS6 is about 1200 more than the LS2 i just want to know if the 1200 more is gonna be worth it.

But the LS6 has a .100" smaller bore and .3 liters less displacement.
LS6 = 346 cubic inches from 3.897" bore (99mm) x 3.622" stroke (92mm)
LS2 = 364 cubic inches from 4.000" bore (101.6mm) x 3.622" stroke (92mm).
Neither block can tolerate more than .010" overbore, but both can fit a 4" plus stroke (4.125" is possible), creating a 402 cubic inch engine out of an LS2, but only a 383 out of the LS6.
Heads are about the same, cam in the LS6 is a bit more radical, but that's something that is easily changed.
LS6 intake is preferred to the LS2, but also something that is easily changed.
In my opinion, I'd go LS2, and save the $1200 for upgrades. But that's just me.
