Remove the rear screens from my MAF? Is it worth the hassle

No hassle to it man. Insert screwdriver, turn to a 45* angle and pull. Air intake tract is straight on LS1's(unlike the LT1's), so the screen does little for 'straightening" airflow from my understanding, at least ;-)

The screen dosn't appear to do much.

After removing it, I recalibrated the MAF, and it stayed pretty much spot on.

So dosn't do any harm to remove it, but then there isn't any gains.

Many posts of so called proven gains of removing the MAF screen, but never seen it myself yet.

You could use the stock MAF internals and get some anodized polised MAF ends.

The MAF isn't a restriction, its worth working on the other things first.

your saying you have before and after dynos and this shows 4 rhhp?

I'd like to see that. I'm not knocking it cause I did it myself, but I don't think it picks up 4 hp.
