the night before I ran him, he was running 11.7's (on 28" dot slicks)
later in the day, he ended up running a 11.59

Still pretty damn quick ... for an $85K car, with mods...

Are you serious? Too Heavy? I have seen trucks at the track that weigh far more than our cars, are they too heavy to be racing? There are many GTO's that are low 11's to high 10's. They shouldn't be racing either right?

so your the one fox body owner that couldn't afford a 347! LOL The fox body is a rattle trap when you compare it to a GTO. They are on different planets when it comes to fit and finish. I compare the fox body to the GM H-body, light weight, came with four, six or eights from the factory and can be deadly fast for less then dirt. The GTO is a little more pricey to make fast but it can fly with just a few mods.

these cars act like grand prix pontiacs when driven normally but open her up and god these cars perform!!!! as for the weight i think thats what makes our cars stable for accidents and at its high top speeds. like mine has gone 157 cuz thats when the limiter kicked in and that thing felt like doing 60 on the street.

That was my little SUV, The only thing better than beating a 99 GT in a SUV was seeing the look on the guys girlfriend's face when i pulled around him. it was priceless..

comfortable modern day amenities, nice smooth/solid ride, decent gas mileage and of course be in the 11's just as easily

My very first race was against a 99 cobra (my cousin had intake and catback) when I was bone stock. I know I have a few extra cubes on the LS1 but the race wasn't even close and an 04 GTO could have taken the cobra easily.

ive seen the races and where very close. I also watched a race on a 06 gto vs. 03 cobra and the cobra pulled and pulled. But it is anyones game, it comes down to the driver.
