Manual Transmission - Clutch options more confusing than Cam specs!

Geez. I have never had to buy a clutch for a T56, and I am really starting to dread it! There are a kazillion companies with 43 models of the same damn clutch! :bang:
Ive pretty much determined that I am not paying $1500 for a damn clutch. That is just flat rediculous for a car under 500HP, in my mind.
Im looking at spending a max of $600 on the clutch itself.
Then add an adj. Master Cylinder($320).
Slave cylinder($?).
Big line kit($150).
Pilot bearing($15).
What else am I missing?
Is the Ram adj. master cylinder just as good as the Mcleod(at half the price!)?
What should I do about flywheel? Billet, aluminum, resurface mine?
Ive always said Id go Spec 3+. But Im hearing alot of good things outa RAM?

i'd go with an ls7 clutch and flywheel. it's a stock driving, OEM quality clutch. it drives great, and holds over 500hp and is designed to last 50k miles.

Speedinc stocks them - www.ls1speed.com

i had one in my car before my automatic. i loved it.

Give the boys at Cartek a call.

The new Level 7 clutch uses stock master/slaves combo. No chatter, feels like stock!

I've got one in my C5 402/L92 combo and I like it alot.

I would suggest a stock style adjustable master. Dont get a McLeod, they can be troublesome.

Awsome. This is all very good news. Looks like I can get all the parts I need for less than $700!

Personally like the LS7 clutch, very stock like during daily driving and has held up nicely under full bolt ons with hot passes at the track on drag radials.
