Default anyone have this happen... brake lights

i went to the mall with some friends today, and when i was going to leave i noticed the brake lights were on... i figured i somehow managed to leave the lights on in my car (even though i never turn them on myself.. i always use the auto on.. or whatever it is)

anyways, i walk around front, and noticed that none of my parking lights were on, so i get in my car and hit the brake pedal and the lights went out.

how exactly does the switch in the pedal work to turn the brake lights on? i cant see how my pedal itself would of got stuck down or anything..

the switch may have gotten stuck. when you hit the brake pedal it got it unstuck, maybe.

The switch is normally pushed in. When you depress the pedal it releases and triggers the brake lights. Its held in by a plastic clip so either thats broken or your switch is bad.
