No, they are not. If a cop sees you with one he can pull you over, cite you, and confiscate it. Get a radar detector to pick up the vans and start paying attention to where the fixed photo spots are and you will be fine.

They park white mini-vans on the side of the road,to catch speeders.
Ive had to brake a ton of times for those things.I see them around school zones the most though.

No...theyre like mobile photo radars.They just park em and they take a photo of speeders,just like the 101 speed cameras.
I take it youve never seen the redlight ones?Its like a big flash you can see,even in broad daylight when it tags you.Ive gotten used to not trying to beat the redlights.kinda goes with the territory.

Oh yeah.....Some undercovers are Chargers.watch those.
They are on the street racing detail as far as I can tell.

wow... thanks for all the good info...

i'm new to AZ, and I can safely say, i'm scared to drive around now... seems like they make it to no matter what you do, you'll eventually get a ticket...

I think i'm gonna try that photoblocker spray... guess it supposedly over exposes the picture from the camera flash...

Dude, just go with the flow of traffic, everyone drives 85-90 anyway.

In California that's very true... but I go with the flow of traffic here and everyone is doing like 65... i feel like i'm on a highway dedicated to old retired people!
