Default whats wrong

Just got my new engine installed, but now my speakers wont work so I can't listen to the radio at all. My mechanic said unplugging the battery probably reset everything on my car and that I need to bring it to a dealer to fix it. So I called and asked about it and it's like $100!! Is there any other way to fix this or do I just need to cough up the money?

Also, I didn't want to start another thread, but I noticed my car doesn't shift as hard as it use. I have a shift kit on it (it's an auto) and it use to shift hard on the 1st to 2nd but now it's really really smooth. He had replace the transmission line so could this be why the car is shifting so smooth?

Is it the factory radio?
Will the radio turn on?
Is anything displayed on the screen?
Is the light next to the ThectLoc logo blinking?

Its the TheftLoc light. TheftLoc is a security feature built into the radio.

I'd suggest disconnecting and reconnecting the radio. There may be a loose connection. There may be a loose connection at the amp too. You can disconnect and reconnect it too. Its in the rear passenger side buy the wheel hump.

Also check the RADIO ACCY fuse. That fuse is for the Monsoon amp so it might not be getting power. Never just look at a fuse - test it or replace it with a known good fuse. They can look fine but still be blown.
