Default LG Motorsports and CarTek

LG Motorsports and CarTek due to the highly elevated #'s you guys are putting out there...please do us all a big favor and get at least two independent dyno pulls on 2-3 different cars running your packages.

This would help us all out here trying to discern a significant investment. Sorry, but without that it feels like the fox is guarding the hen house.

Validation + repeatability = you've got my $$$

Thanks!!!

I say we get all the sponsors with the big number heads and cam packages to run in a race at the spring break shootout to settle this once and for all, limit them to a stock bottom end and some other stuff so it will finally shut every body the hell up about what shop can do what.

Why don't you guys set up some guidelines like, weight and tires limits with some other basic rules so we don'y have any straight up drag cars winning by any other means but horsepower and your chassis setup.

Example:
346 stock lower block only
heads/hyd cam of your choice
Tires no bigger than 26's
raceweight minumum of 3500-3600lbs.
No poweradders

This is for starters. I think it would be an awesome idea to have all in the same day at the same track.

Sounds good so we should do this on the Saturday Night Fun Racing at Beech Bend the night of the event. That way I can run my car against all these "shop" cars. My car isn't legal (no cage) and full weight 3600+ pounds with me in it. It's been 11.20's and about to get a cam change. Not that I could run with them, but who knows this track is different here and no one runs what they run elsewhere. Anyway I wanna see this huge 470rwhp 346's run. Heck my 415rwhp or so will be catching a tailwind off these guys.

Matbe these guys can start working on strokers. I've always thought the big cube LS1's should be putting out WAY more power than they are. These new h/c packages are close to 383 performance The future is getting better, it's about time modified LS1's went to the next level. It just makes my future plans harder to decide on lol

Don't forget a spec torque converter, spec tire pressures, track prep between each run, spec weight distribution, spec shocks, spec rear suspension parts/settings, spec rear end/gears/posi, etc...

SOOOOOOO many variables other than weight, power, and tire size.

I mean, we're all pissing and moaning about a 7-10 RWHP advantage of one H/C package over another. You know and I know that that difference in power (at the kinds of ET's these cars are capable of) would make at best a .1 second difference (more likely less than that, but what the hell; we have to assume some kind of ET drop) in cars that were exactly the same save the H/C package. There are SO many ways that a tenth can be lost or gained... shift points, shift firmness, blah, blah, blah... so a shootout like this would be pointless unless the cars were spec cars.

Spec headers, spec driveshaft, spec balancer/pullies... WAY too many variables to make a "drag strip shootout" a realistic comparison of H/C packages. That's all I'm trying to say.

I agree that it would be pointless with so many variables to cover. Each engine from the factory has good and bad ones. Whose to say which block had an inital advantage before the heads cam went on.

That would be tough, ...But, a DYNO shootout at the event!

come up with some rules, like Same tires, same tire pressures, open headers, how many runs, etc. This could be done.

Remember at the F-body shootouts in Memphis where hypertech brought out their portable dyno a few times? If this could be arranged at some of the shootouts, it would be possible to have this turn into a reality.

LPE will be at the North vs South with several customer cars. I also plan to bring my own car,
'68 Chevy Nova with a 346 bottom end & H&C (because that's all I can afford!)
I am definately down for head to head dyno runs, or taking it on the track.
I'm with Lou, you guys are in charge, members make the rules for the tuners to follow, and we can all see who has the real stones!!

FYI...see "9D9LS1" 's post on the corvette forum this week. He's got over 500HP on a Cartek H/C/Header set up. N/A. (Stroker)
