Default Timing Chain question

I just put on a JP Performance timing chain, i had bought the set but ended up just using the chain with the stock gears. Now its tight as can be on the gears but when i play with the chain on the sides there is a little play, it doesnt feel like the chain could come off but, is this normal?

I had taken off and put the cam gear dot to dot twice and both times it took about 10 seconds so im kinda worried that it was that easy.

Is it because there is play in the chain? Or did i just get lucky

use the cam and crank gear that cam with the chain set. they are a matched set. i have had crank gears that come off, and go on easy. you can put a new crank key on it, and it will help, otherwise run it.

I had this same question before. Everyone said its ok. I was using a rollermaster set and the crank snout gear was a little less than tight, but once cam gear was fastened down it was all pretty well situated on the crank.
