head selection for MS4?
I recently had the MS4 installed into my 99 TA m6. Dyno #s were 402rwhp @ 6.5k and 365rwtq. The torque curve was pretty solid, never dropping below 300ft/lbs from 2,500-6,500rpm. I've been considering a few heads. I am on a budget.
The heads I've been looking at are the Dart's, Patriots, and TSPs offerrings. One of the main differences I notice between the Dart's and Patriots are that the Darts have better intake numbers, while the Patriots have better exhaust numbers.
Speed Inc shows flows of:
Dart int exh
225cc
.200 144 109
.300 202 154
.400 254 187
.500 290 205
.600 313 214
Patriot int exh
stage 2
.200 140 124
.300 202 160
.400 244 196
.500 280 220
.600 304 229
Any suggestions on these heads or others would be great, though I would really like to try to stay in the $1500 range or less. The numbers on the MS4 are 239/242, .649/.609, 111LSA. Should I focus on a head with a "closer" intake to exhuast flow or vice versa? Other bolt ons include ls6 intake, pacesetter LTs and ORY, ASP pulley, ported MAF and TB on a stock bottom end.

I had a MS4 car and I was looking to at the patriots and the PRC's. both are great heads for the money and both from great companies. I think you will be happier with either one. I kinda leaned towards patriot they told me they would weld up the chambers some for a little more compression at no extra cost. I nevered asked TSP this. I'm waiting for patriots new Preadator castings to come out.

The Dart cylinder heads & any stage 2 cylinder heads will not clear with the MS4 camshaft. We have a specific LS6 stage 1 cylinder head configuration for the MS4 camshaft. The PRC LS6 heads configured for the ms4 camshaft feature better than stock p/v & a 62cc chamber configuration!
here's some flow data from a stage 1 Precision Race Components LS6 head.
