Default Alignment Question

Recently I took my TA to get an alignment and the mechanic said he was unable to allign the car due to it being in a previous wreck. Anyway, I took the car to a body shop, and they told me the front LCAs and the steering knuckle needed to be replaced. My question is, do the front LCA's have anything to do with the alignment. My car swerves to the left real bad as soon as I let go of the steering wheel on the highway. Thanks in advance for any help.

You could probably just get away with changing the steering rack itself. It is held in with two bolts and bolts to the control arms. You can get one off of ebay for roughly 100.00 with low miles. One of your tie rods is probably bent and they cant toe it in.
