Default Heat Shielding for MC Line

In an effort to try and keep my pedal from going soft 45 mins after I bleed it, I am going to try and add some heat shielding around my MC line.

My question is, does it matter what kind of sheet metal to use? Or can I just use any malleable metal sheet(steel/iron, not Aluminum)? Do you think Ace Hardware might carry what I am loking for?

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: I have already wrapped the MC line in fuel hose from AutoZone and 3M foil tape ($7.99 a roll!!!!). I am talking about adding some stock style sheet metal to kind of 'seperate' the MC from the exhaust pieces...

same troubles here. I snagged some insulation wrap from a steam tracer line at work. its a fibermesh wrapped with aluminum then covered with high temp rubber. right now my line is wrapped with fuel line and aluminum foil, still have the trouble.

Just make sure the shielding is nice and shiny to reflect radiant heat. Any paint or corrosion will lower the effectiveness.

Thanks gametech! Would some sort of galvanized or aluminized, or even Stainless work to keep the corrosion away?
