UPDATE: original LS4 oil pump after putting it on track finally, awesome results.
Earlier this year I put my G5-X2 cam in along w/ the new yella terras, an ATI super damper, and and LS4 oil pump. I allready had my Dewitts rad w/ oil cooler, intake, Kooks headers, etc.
This is the original LS4 w/ the higher pressure relief spring, not the revised one that came out a few months later.
There were multiple posts about sucking your pan dry and much gloom and doom.
With my oil cooler stup my oil capacity is 8 quarts or a hair over maybe 8.5. I run Amsoil 5w40.
At cold startup I see around 80 psi, but really othing more... my normal operating temp on the street is 210-212 degrees (higher pressure, thicker oil, etc.). At this temp I see 70-75 psi WOT, 55-57 psi cruising at 1700 rpms, and 46-48 psi at idle. Really nothing to get worked up over.
At VIR this weekend it was great... my max oil temp in 95 degree weather was 278 vs. 300+ last summer before the cooler etc. Normally the temp stayed in the 260s. My oil pressure was a very very healthy 55psi most all of the time... I never saw it go below 50psi even at max temp, wot, thorugh long sweepers w/ my slicks.
I'm very happy w/ the pump... before this... w/ bolt-ons only and no cooler I'd see OPs in the low 30s w/ the oil temp near 300 at WOT.

I also installed one and am very happy with it. I hooked up a secondary mechanical gauge to watch for fluctuation on cold starts and there was none. I figured it was used in a stock application so it cant be all that bad.
