Default problem with moonson headunit need help

i recently had my headunit replaced by gm under warranty but know i am having a problem with the headunit remebering the time it will remeber everything except the time. say i was driving my car home from work at night and it was 9:35 PM when i turned the car off and then i get up and go somewhere at 10:30 AM the clock on the radio will still say 9:35, this is wierd what could be wrong with the clock is there a battery in the headunit that might have gone bad considering that it is a new unit from gm and it could have been sitting on the shelf for a while anyways i dont care whats wrong just how can i fix it thanks

Get it replaced again - it's defective. There is no internal battery, the HU uses the car battery to maintain it's memory and the clock. However, if that wasn't working you would lose all your station presets and the clock would reset to 12:00 AM.
