Im new to this site, but Ive wanted an LS1 T/A since the first time I saw one. Right now I drive a '72 Charger, which I'm trying to sell(Anyone Interested?) so I can get the TA.
The only problem is that my mom(Im only 17) wants me to get a honda or something that gets good gas mileage, which I really don't care about. :nono:
Anyways, Here is one I'm thinking about, does this look like a good deal to anyone else?http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=222383154&dealer_id=60149713&car_year=2000&model=TRANSAM&num_records=25&make2=&start_year=1998&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&search_type=both&distance=300&make=PONT&color=&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=100000&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=36203&advanced=y&end_year=2007&doors=&transmission=Manual&max_price=17000&cardist=300

Go for it!!! I got my car when I was 16 and now I have had it for two months and I am now 17. Its pretty much the coolest thing ever to have a such an awsome car while still in highschool. Just be persistant with the parents and they will eventually let you get one. I just had to prove that it was safer and less cost prohibitave than my truck was, plus the insurance was cheaper. Don't get a civic (or in my case my mom wanted me to get a celica :barf: ) f-bodies are so much more unique and overall more cool

looks nice i would pic it up seems like a good price.
I got my formula when I was 20 only because that was about the time i first got to drive 1 lol. Also just point out that an F-body is a much safer car then a civic.

looka like a good price and good miles for the year. If u think u are responsible enough i say fug it. hell, just remeber, its not the car thats fast, its the driver, doesent matter if u did get a honda, if ur gonna speed ur gonna speed, just migh take alittle longer in the honda.

Good gas mileage? My M6 Z28 with headers, ORY, Hooker cat back and a dyno tune would consistantly knock down 30-32 mpg on long trips.

Thats what I tried to tell her, but her friend was like "thats BS, theres no way a 5.7 gets any kind of decent gas mileage." Its the same guy that almost screwed me out of my Charger.

I think you can do better price wise! Also, don't buy a WS6 just because its a WS6! You can get a regular T/A and newer with less miles for the same price. Like I said shop around! BTW welcome to the site.

First of all, your mom's friend is a fag and can go fuck himself.
Second of all, I don't know why you don't want to keep your Charger. Drop a 440 sixpack in it or whatever Mopar engine is cool in it.
Third of all (and then I'll quit with the numbrs), GM says a Z28 M6 gets 28 mpg highway. It's on the window sticker. I'd say it's a conservative estimate. I got 26.8 on an 2200 mile round trip, and that's through heavy city driving at one point and old ass spark plugs in a 86000 mile engine.
Every man who is not homosexual knows these cars get great milage nowadays.
You don't get more reliable than an LS1 engine (notice I didn't say "than an F-Body," though ;) ). Pushrod V8's --> :thumb:
Still, I'd stick with your Charger, though gas milage must suck so bad you might as well be pumping liquid gold into its tank!

I think I am going to stick with the Charger, at least for a while. Ill sell it if I can get at least 12K. Im not sure if its worth that much, but I dont want to sell it yet, so if someone wants it bad enough, PM me.
