Engine backfires then dies. Bolton 00 z28 I have a weird problem with my car. Its a 00 z28, i have a slp lid and k&n filter. it didnt come with a blockoff plug so that part is open, i have msd wires and ngk plugs, pacesetter LT and ORY. I installed everything about 300-400 miles ago and everything was kosher, but today i punched it in first and around 5k the engine backfires extremely loud and dies, i try to rev it back up as the rpms fall but it does nothing, then i can throw it back into gear and the engine will come alive again. I cant figure out why. Im thinking it may be the MAF? or maybe something with the o2's? I broke the CAS sensor wires so i had to resplice them but i dont think that is causing it. Can anyone lend a hand? thanks
