Default Moving to SD from Austin Tx

Hey guys,

I'm moving to SD in July and I am thinking about selling my car because of the simple fact that my car is cammed with a rich tune and no cats. If I were to get a tune and either add a dual exhaust setup with cats or just add cats on to the existing setup (Corsa) would I be able to get the car to pass smog? Cam specs are 224/224 .560 on a 112 lsa so it's pretty lopey so I don't know the chances of getting the car to pass CA emissions. I really want to keep my car and drive to SD but CA emissions are pretty rough so I've heard. Any input would be appreciated.

Michael

Look at my sig..I am a San Diego native and know first hand how hard it is to pass smog, but I also know where to get my truck smogged .In order to pass you need to put your stock cats/exhaust back on and make sure everything you have thats after market carries a C.A.R.B#

Or just keep the car registered in Texas and don't worry about it.

Well after a year I'd still have to get it inspected and pass CA emissions.

If you put cats on then youd have to have a Good or at least leaner tune so you dont melt them. Plus you cant have LT's, but if you have shorties then you can get a CARB# (California Air Resources Board). They are the people that say what aftermarket **** is legal.

Smog is every other year once you're settled in.
