View Full Version : Adding inline pump

I know there is most likely a answer to my question on here but I cant find it. I have a 2000 SS that has a Bosch inline pump, but the pump has been bypassed with a piece of rubber line and I assume it is junk. Can I just replace it with a Walbro 255lph pump? Will there be problems with fuel pressure then? Is there something different about pumps sold as bap's? Any help would be great.

Anyone? I also forgot to mention the reason for the extra pump is for the nitrous.

Inline pumps generally can help increase fuel pressure, but may be limited in flow based on the pump in the tank.

You should upgrade the intank pump & then you can eliminate the external. This will be quieter & provide better flow than a stock intank & external combination.

I have Racetronix kits in stock for your car.

I was wondering if I could just throw a walbro inline because they are only $98 and the car is already set up for it.

I had a Vortech inline pump and it was very annoying at start up. I would go with a bigger pump in the tank.

As was said. And prob why the pump was bypassed. You need a bigger pump intank as you will get extra pressure from the external but not extra volume as you can not pull more fuel through the stocker in the tank.

I will go with a in tank pump for next year, kind of running low on funds this year. Got a few other things to take care of first, will just have to wait and spray next year.
