When I bought my car, the guy I purchased it from told me it takes him about 15 minutes to swap out a complete top with frame. He said it is a very easy job.... of course he has done it a number of times so....

You dont need a new top. You need to fix the broken window motor so you can roll down the window when you close the top.

You also need to post pics of this new paint job of yours. :)

I want to know this too. When I get back from Germany my vert won't be my daily driver and the top needs replacing so I was thinking about just taking the top off putting the tonneau cover on and leaving it in the garage. How's that for weight reduction?

Its a lot of reduction you figure... If it not ever going to be used again.. you have the motor for the top and the whole top itself...

Plus if I have no top I really don't need windows, window motors or regulators.

I hate it when I see a convertible driving around with the windows up and the top down.
