If you have at least a 2.0 and made at least 800 (old scoring) dont know about new scoring, you will get in. Thats from what I understand. If you are worse than that, then sometimes they put you on academic probation for your first year and if you dont make atleast a C avg. they kick you out or make you pay out of school wages. Its tough not to make it into thier undergrad. Their grad programs are tougher tho.

Nick...go to HCC for a year. Save about 2 grand a year and live with the rents. That's another few grand you save in rent. They have good professors. You can understand all of them (a horrible problem at 4 year universities), and they have a connection with U of H so you can be enrolled at both places at once in case there are some classes you want that you can't get at HCC for one reason or another. Then transfer wherever you want.

I was 208/857, 1350/1600 SAT, 31/36 ACT, GPA: 3.98 and I got wait listed/"if you go to summer school, you can come in the fall" type thing. I declined the wait list and SS option, now going to be a sophomore at TAMU.

BTW I wrote TERRIBLE enterance essays because I knew I was automatically accepted the A&M. Lazy.

My HS GPA was around 5.7 (7pt scale) or so--basically a B--and my SAT score was an 1100. I got in without a problem. While it is a decent school, it isn't exactly Harvard .

Are you talking transfer grades from a Community College/Junior College or High School? Colleges are always much easier on transfer students than they are on High School students.

Unfriendly people compared to other universities. It's mainly commuter people who don't care to get to know anyone because all they care about is the 3 hours per class a week they spend on each class and don't give a **** about anything else at UTA. It's just not as personal and you miss out on the "college" experience other big Universities can offer.

If you are just going to work through school, then go nuts but as for getting the going away to college feel etc, it ******* sucks.

The business school is so repetitive that's its ******* rediculous too.

What is the large difference between UTD and UTA? (Minus the fact they are in two different locations.

I always heard UTD was better overall.

My G/F is finishing up her masters @ UTD.

UTD while still a commuter school is smaller and a lil more personable. I lived in the apts on campus and had a ******* blast when I was there and wasn't working 35+ hours a week while taking 18 hours a semester lol.

I liked UTD better but 20 min drive or 45+ min drive with traffic made my decision pretty easy while living at home to finish on my own dime instead of taking loans.

Im with 87fierose, I felt it was a great school. I was also a commuter student but spent most of my time on campus there. There are some kids there that have an attitude, but most of the time someones attitude towards you is based on the atiitude youre giving out. If you go there and make yourself available and dont hide in a shell you can meet some great people and have a lot of fun. If your goal is to just get through class and get out, then you will meet a lot of ********, because that is what youre giving off. But it is a good school and it can do a lot for you in the future, it helped me get into law school without a hitch and helped 87fierose get certified as an architect. Go in to get the most out of it.

If you are calling me an ******* or taking a pot shot at me go ahead and come out and say it, but those that have ever met me or talked to me know I'm one of the most easy going, fun loving guys to talk to.
