Default Correct Way to bleed Clutch???

So I did the drill mod and was bleeding my clutch afterwards. The first method I used after pumping the clutch about 100 times was like doing brakes: push clutch in, open bleeder, close bleeder, release clutch. This did not get any pedal feeling. I then went on to do the other method: open bleeder, push pedal in, close bleeder, release pedal, which got some pressure back to the pedal and I got it back to where it was drivable. Searching the site, I found that most people use the second method, but usually bench bleed the master which I did not do. Is it better to use the first method after the master is semi- bled out? I also purchased a mityvac, but even with this the clutch is still not fully disengaging during mid to high rpm shifts. I am going to do the manual bleed and flush out all the fluid and try mityvacing it again. Any help would be appreciated...

Always push in the pedal first then open the bleeder. If not you can cause air to go into the lines of the slave.

I even close the bleeder just before the flow stops just to be sure the master doesn't bottom out & 'bounce' in turn sucking air.

How do you figure this, opening first will only initiate gravity bleed.

Your right it will start gravity bleeding, but then you have your helper push the pedal down. Then fluid will come out solid stream out the bleeder.
I like to close it before flow stops to keep it from getting air when the master bottoms out.

If you bench bleed a master do it with the line installed. You have to depress the center core of the line where it attaches to the slave.
Then release it before the bottom of the master's stroke.
Repeat until bled.

I bought a Motive pressure bleeder so I never have to worry about it again. That along with my slave extension is the "right" way to do it for me.

I used method number 2. Fluid circulates so much faster and only toke me 10 mins to bleed the clutch.

Nope...two different animals. The Motive piece uses positive pressure, the Mityvac pulls a vacuum. I have both, and the Motive is what I use.

Yep, the Motive and slave extension will work wonders. If you do a search, there's some info on it. It's been a year since my new master, slave, slave extension, drill mod, Motive power bleeder, and all is still great - can bang third without any notchiness....

I do #2. I also raise the back of the car higher than the front. The bleed port inside the slave is at the back of the slave. Having the car raised in this manner will help any air rise to the back of the slave instead of the front.
