I just had to post a remarkable race i just had. But some info in my 95 Z28. When i first got my camaro with 60000 miles on it, it was FAST. It almost seemed alot faster than it should be. I would race z's and always win. Well i dropped a couple mod's in it:

Cold air induction
TPS airfoil
Pulleys
New Transminission last year - Spec'd with corvette parts and 2500 stall
Shift kit
Removed Cats
Stock exhaust
Auto-4
Took to track before pullys, cats removed, new trans, stall, shift kit and i got a 13.8 @ 99.98MPH.
Pretty much air work as you can see.

Well my LT1 just beat a CTS-V and 07 corvette. Both were Auto's (UPDATE-I was incorrect in this, there is no auto CTS-V) We did 2 races at 2 lights. Pretty cool stuff i think. Now a question i have is... was there a special edition Z28 released in 95 that i purchased, because i did not receive the sticker? Or did these guys suck at driving? LOL

Mine ran a 13.87 when I got mine, completely stock except a moroso cold air intake. And a lot of the time tires hook better on the street than on most tracks causing the Lt1 bottom end power to shine. And yes they could suck at driving. With all that and a stall converter I don't see why those aren't unrealistic feats.

If you beat an '07 vette, then he sucked at driving, badly.

I agree, high 13's are not enough to even beat a LS1 C5 or SS/WS6 let alone a low, low 13 second CTS-V and a mid to high 12 second C6. Those guys both needed the driver mod sorry to day...but it sounds like you have a strong car!

You sure it was an auto CTS-V?

no such thing as an auto CTS-V

Well the guy pulled up on the side of me before the race started and he was talking to the corvette and saying that his car is pretty fast huh? He than told him that he had an LS2. They started the race not thinking i was going to tear it up and we took it up to around 120, but the corvette dropped off about 70 or so. Me and the cts-v took it all the way and had the second race at the light after he asked me what engine i have. I just assumed it was a auto, because i did not here him shifting gears, but he was behind me the whole time. Either way though, he WAS wasted, and my car is a freak. I am going to take my car to the racetrak again soon, and post new ET's.

My 95 Z28 managed a 13.89 @ 99mph bone stock.

Its a bare option Z28 Hardtop A4.
Only things it had at the time where a K&N filter, Mobil 1 oil and brand new Goodyear Eagle GT-II's on my stock rims.

Your car isn't a freak, it just runs really good, and has been taken care of.
But an 07 Vette would spank a high 13 second car.

Congrats on the wins, but those guys can' t drive. :nono: Particularly the guy in the C6. A win is a win though! :thumb:

LS2 CTS-V's are no joke they don't launch so good because of the rear end but they mph usually around 108-110 ....which means he can't shift to save his life.

Good race, but with equal drivers your car would loose. You just met up with some folks that couldn't drive for crap

Lesson learned here than. Purchase a supercharger, so that i dont lose against someone who actually knows how to drive. haha

THere was a guy around town here running 13.2s all day long in a bone stock 93 Z28, so an odball ringer is not totally out of the question.

The original owner of this car said that the Z28 i have was some special edition, dont know in what respect he is talking about. It was originally ordered by the owner of a local GM car dealership. He brought it home for his wife and she said to bring it back because she did not want it. I dont see any special stickers or badges in the car though. Like I said, i dont have to original sticker. But the owner before me, who bought it from the dealer, said it said special edition on the sticker. Anyone know what this might be? I know that the 02 TA's came with hurst shifters specially ordered from the factory. Could there be any special order in 95 for Camaro's? Dont quote me on what the original owner said though, because he had no sticker to show me. But i believe him because he has credability.

First of all, a lot of people talk some stupid shit out of their ass to sell a vehicle. Hence the necessitation for "Special Edition" and "Limited Edition" badges for sell in the ricer section of your favorite auto parts store. Secondly, the previous owner MAY have been referring to the "Special Service Package," identifiable by the RPO code "B4C" on your driver' s door. If it has the B4C designation, it was intended by GM to be used as a pursuit vehicle for law enforcement. Another limited package is the "1LE" suspension package, this code would also be identifiable on the sticker on your driver' s door. This is a package for an upgraded suspension used for road racing, it also deletes the creature comforts of power options, leather, and AC in pre-97 cars. The Hurst was available as an overpriced factory option on all 6-speed cars.

You sound like you know what your talking about, so after all the information i have gathered in these posts, I would have to say this...

"It was a good evening for a race"

Cant wait to race again.

Im sure the corvette would beat me in a 1 on 1 race in the quarter mile. Sometimes a race is not about ET's, but about 2 cars at a stop light, trying to win. Things begin to change at that point. My car runs like crap some nights.

my 93 Z28 Auto did 13.7@102 with intake and a cut out as the only mods. So you don't have a freak
