From what I've read, for a heat extractor to be efficient on our cars, it needs to be very close to the front of the car, specifically in between the radiator and the motor. Look at the C5r and C6r and where they place the heat extractors as well as the GTOr. They are pretty far forward on the hood.

I think it would look good. What would prevent rain from getting up in there?

on my old stock z28 hood i removed the plastic grills and bought some SS inserts that had holes in them and air could get in and heat could flow out when at a stop. not enough to do anything but still looked better then stock.

It's not going to do anything for heat extraction, air will rush in the engine bay at speed.

As mentioned, they need to be way farther forward.

On the other hand, it looks pretty nice.

I think it looks great...it occurred to me after seeing this that it might be neat to try to move the extractors much more forward on the hood to emulate the 1987-1990 GTA hood. That would not only look good and probably function better, but you could call it "retro" too.

made them smaller and more forward. i dont know how hard it would be to cut there because there is a lot more layers of metal. when i put them farther back was because there's an empty space in that area under the hood.

i might do it just for fun when i get a new hood, i doubt i'll be able to sell the stocker anyway, maybe $50

louvers are impossible to find unfortunately.

Those forward vents look pretty nice though. If you do it post pics.
