Default Monsoon: why the talk of 2 ohm speakers?

this weekend i replaced the 2 subs (i use that term very loosely) in my TA. before i bought the 6.5 inch speakers i read the stickies at the top of this forum and they kept refering to the speakers as 2 ohm, but when i took the speakers out they said 4 ohm on the magnet (they were just stock Monsoon "rear seat" speakers). why where the stickies saying 2 ohms?... just curious.

Thanks
John

stickies list it correctly:

dual voice coil 6.5S (4-ohm + 4-ohm) subs mounted in the sail panels (beside the rear seat)

Camaros have SVC 2 ohm
