Nice looking turbo and will spool well, but the turbine wheel is a horrible piece for a performance turbo. 12 blade design is going to cause some serious back pressure problems. Plus the turbine is only about mid 60% efficiency.

We have some customers that have used that unit on 300-400ci builds and have not been happy with the logs on backpressure. Keep in mind the GT42 turbine wheel flows about the same and does this at 74% efficiency.

I will keep an eye out for any issues, if the 12 blade doesn't work well for some reason I will change it or upgrade the turbo...I'm looking for very quick spool 3000-3500 (which garrett claims it will do it) and I'm shooting for 1K which it should be able to support that also...if it meets these goals then I will be a happy person, if not back to the drawing board..I'll see in about 2 weeks when I get it tuned...p.s. will backpressure increase or decrease the larger and better flowing the motor???

Back pressure will rise with larger free flowing engine and boost pressure will drop.

What made you decide to put it there? That seems like an awful position for it.

alot of kits put the turbos there, more room and you can keep the a/c which is nice because it's a street car....

Have any pics of Fbody single turbo kits with a turbo like that? I've never seen anyone cut out a huge chunk of their fender like that. Just seems a little ill concieved. You're obviously going to have to do some sort of tubular manifold / custom crossover.

Why not just put it in the middle and run the downpipe like PSJ has on his setup? That minimizes the hacking necesitated to fit the turbo / downpipe and would still allow you to maintain your AC.

PSJ's downpipe:
