I posted this on the GTO forum and wanted to get input here as well.

Got the car dynoed and dialed in at New Era Performance on Wednesday. Thanks to Mike for the tuning as always! The car has a forged low compression 370, LS6 cam, untouched 241 LS1 heads with Patriot duals, and stock manifolds. This run was 14psi spraying 10gph meth @ 4psi and up. I think it made peak power a bit early... I think I'm really pushing the limits of the stock STS exhaust piping... any thoughts on that?

Hoping to get to the track within a week or so... the car went 11.70@128 last year on crappy Nitto DRs... I've got 100rwhp more now and slicks... car is an M6... any guesses on ET and trap?

Turbo is a TC76MPS.

Thoughts, comments?

Thanks!

Adam

Bigger is not allways better. I think those are good numbers. Track it first I think with a good 60ft you should see high tens.

sweet numbers, I'd guess 133-136 traps... easy 10's if you can run it out. M6 goats have trouble getting those 10's, but I'm sure a lot of people will be cheering ya on.

Nice to see the TC76MPS putting down some good numbers, post up track times when you get em.

Adam, nice numbers man! I think you will see 133-135mph traps in this weather....more in the fall :)

Nice to finally meet you a couple weeks ago!

Not sure how long your spool up time is but if you cracked that nut on the track you should see 10's. Spool time was killing me at the track with the new mods in my sig I expect to significantly reduce the lag I had off the line. Track doesn't lie good luck :drive:

Hydro, nice numbers! Is there a chance you could PM me with the actual datafile for that dyno run? I'm trying to collect nice examples of various comparable FI methods on roughly similar setups.... thanks.

What was your 60' on the 11.7 run?

Thanks for the replies!

60' on the 11.7 was a measly 1.95... I've got a set of Hoosier 27x10x15s this year tho... hoping for sub 1.7s

Is the car slow to spool down low at the track? I'm just curious because on a 2.0 60' on nittos I've been able to go 11.1's @ 130. I'm able to leave on boost because I'm an auto though.

I just find it interesting how the 6spd rearmounts usually do really bad at the track. Great MPH, crappy ETs. I use to always run 11.7's @ 126mph when I was 6spd. It was slow to spool too, work a ton of bugs out this year.

Have you wrapped your exhaust yet? Seems to get to full boost really late for the setup and being on a load bearing dyno.

I was figuring out how to launch the car late last year. Not at the track just playing around on the street. On my 11.7 run I didn't get boost until well past the 60' mark... I should do much better this year.

I still haven't wrapped the exhaust but I plan to. The car spools much quicker on the street compared to the Dynojet... of course it just blows the tires away though lol.

LOL, never mind I'm retarded. I confused your dyno with someone elses I was looking at that was done on a Mustang Dyno. The Dynojet explains the lag lol.

Wrap that exhaust, big difference.
At least you are figuring out your 6spd launch, I never did and gave up after going through 4 or 5 clutches in 5000 miles. TH400 4 life!

Quick question for the more informed. Looking at his sheet is it possible he was running out of Turbo or do you believe the exhaust piping could be the restriction? I've finally got mine on the road with a GT67 and need to upgrade just want to make sure I get the right one.

Looks good. The top of the graph just looks like it is lacking timing.I've found STS cars like more timing after peek torque.(well, more than front mount turbo's)

As for spooling on launch. The best way is if you have a test button for the meth is to tap in when spoolin. It will kick the spool up fast.

Thanks I got mine on the dyno yesterday and best run was 502HP/569TQ at 4800 RPM. At around 5K she was falling on her face and power fell off. Everything checked out fine but it just feels like she's running out of breath. Still checking things out. BTW I've got the GT67 with .81.

Pretty sure I'll be going with a GT76 just trying to get all the info I can.

Interesting. So you've pulled up and staged, and then where in the lights progression do you give it a little methanol spray? Have you tried this with an M6?
