Default which tt setup , aps, ls1turbo, or custom?

I was wondering what you guys thought the best turbo set up would be for a completely stock motor and wood like to make 500rwhp with no problem. i wood like to beable to beat , by at least 3 to 4 car lengths, this guy that graduated from my high school this year who has a 94 lexas with a twin turbo supra swap and claims he has 470rwhp. i would also like to keep my ac and this is mainly a dd street car and will only see the track a couple times, but if i took it to the track i would like to run a mid 10 or high 10 and keep decent gas milage. thanks

yea, go with an aps or somethign similar from a proven sponsor.... mine is being done as a custom kit, but i'm at the point now where it might have been worth the little extra money to be sure that my kit comes is done in a timely fashion.. my car is WAY past when we thought it would be done. Granted, its just about done, but its getting rediculously frustrating...

Custom does take a long time. I dropped my truck off on March 24 and it still isn't done. Granted, he's working on it in his spare time. I know it will be worth it in the end. The excitement gets the better of me and I want it now.

I went with APS this time around. Still have a 2000 dollar hole in my wallet from last one I went with. Company is gone now.

So would stick to the big name guys personally.

Custom is the only way to go.

Do you want a suit from JC Penny, or a custom tailored suit to fit you and your style?

Though can be at times a load more drama and more costly than going with a thoroughly engineered quality production turbo system.

If you know how to fabricate, weld and all that other stuff mabye. If you trust the shop 100% maybe. Turbos are not overly complicated and you can fab up a system.
but there will be compromises likely .Most twin turbo systems give up air conditioning. Some are not emissions compatible. Some hang too darn low. Etc.etc.
Obviously your average home hack can't do cad design and produce things like the APS twin system. That is worth more money to me. Most little shops take months and months and some go under.
No thanks..done giving my money to the little guys and losing my ***. Happy to just order from big name company and pretty confident will recieve my product.
And also that they likely will take care of me if I have some problems with it.

There are alot of shops with great reputations and 10-15years of history.

What you are used to is the fly by night, debt is king turbo shops of the ebay era. That is not always the case.

As for the APS, it is a very nice kit.

The ls1tech forums and the old ls1.com are full of guys that were burned on ls1 turbo kits..Incon is one but there are many more. I am on that list unfortunately. I thought had picked a solid shop and they did put out a couple finished kits but they went under and I got left so far holding the bag.

Thats why this time went with think the biggest and oldest of the turbo companies.
I am not saying some little shops can't do a great job. Or that someone with skills can't put together a kit. I just want to buy my kit, install my kit and put the pedal to the metal.Thats it. I want to pay for it and have it show up promptly. I don't want my car in some shop for months or to be waiting on some limited production kit being assembled by JOE SCHMOE with his little crappy welder.

I would encourage guys on board to buy from the biggest companies but of course its their choice.
