berger back panel....
hey everybody. Just got done painting my back panel ultra flat black. Well, I am wondering if I should have painted it gloss black. I know the berger panel is satin/flat black, but I am almost thinking the gloss would look better. What do you guys/gals think?? Need some help.
thanks!!

Re: berger back panel....
All depends. I kinda like the flat black look cause its enough change to catch your eye, yet its not going to be all shiny and call attentio to itself. You can always go buy a back panel off a 4th gen w/ some front end damage, and test the gloss to see if you like that any better, that way you're not wreckin your car...
I say keep the black, but if you want a somewhat unique look, then try out the gloss.

Re: berger back panel....
well, I am keeping it unique either way, I filled in the camaro letters and am going to put a corvette emblem that goes on the new vettes.
oh, and I allready did buy a new panel, planned that far ahead in case I didn't like the black panel on my pewter car. I think I am going to rid around a little with the flat black on, and then see if I change my mind.
Anybody else have any comments?
thanks!

Don't worry about the glossy look, I really think a lot of subtle mods add up to a beautiful car. If you could send me any instructions and pics on how you filled in the Camaro lettering on the back panel that would be great, I've been wanting to do that for a while. Thanks pilotls1@yahoo.com

I wanted to be different and I think it makes it look more fancy. So I went with a high gloss black for my tail pannel

Lookin @ the glossy black, it makes it look more like you got it off a black Fbody vs painting it. Makes a nice touch either way. Esp w/ pewter, silver or white. I'd think even w/ Hugger O or SOM it'd look killer aswell. Esp w/ some berger stripes (sorry, i love those things )

I have a twin :p
I went with the glossy/filled look also. Reason is because I felt it looked better with my car being red and having a glossy black top, mirrors and front grill.

Looks like we have similar taste!
Oh, I put the logo in the center because I really wanted some nice looking actual logos (instead of the plastic stock Z28 emblems) and of course the Z/28 logo wouldn't fit under the taillight. So I figured I'd put it in the center, 1st gen style.

Re: berger back panel....
wow, I wanted to get a gloss black grill from a newer 4th gen too, but now that I see that you guys have flat panels, I want one LOL, did you guys modify the originals somehow, or buy it like that?

Re: berger back panel....
This is a picture of the front of my car.
I've lowered it and added a rear SS spoiler since the pictures were taken. With the glossy black on the hood, the SLP grill, the mirrors and the top I thought the flat or semi-gloss black panel would look out of place.
I've thought about removing the SLP grill and going with a black tube grill with a 69 Z/28 emblem on it.
