Default New Guy From Oregon

HI Guys my name is Randy I am new to this forum. But not to the foums. I have heard many good things about the site. I also have been looking over it for a month now and decided to join. I have a 1965 Chevelle I am currently working on. My father bought it brand new in 1964 In oregon. Then after vietnam is sat for 30 years on the coast with no motor had 42,000 origional miles on it. SO he then gave the chevelle to me after seeing my interests in cars. I tore it down straight to the frame first then though about what I wanted to do. I was first in to drag racing so though I would go that route. Then I got into a street machine. But then I got into pro-touring so after seeing an article on mark stielows "The Malitude" I figured out what I wanted to do. Then Later on I descovered that I was origionaly going to do a Gen I block with a centerificul chager straped to a T-56. Then I found my Love for the LS2 so soon I will begin my LS2 Conversion by first buy my motor mount conversion. I still have a long way to go on this project. To complete my frame as a rolling chassie I need front brakes and Wheels and tires. so here is my mods list.

65 chevelle frame mini tubbed 2" and powdercoated Black
I also did some boxing for strength.
12 bolt rear end Mini Tubbed 2" black powdercoated.
Eaton 3 seires posi unit
Richmond 4.10 gears
Ratech bearing kit
Moser 30 spline axles
Baer 12" brakes (Rear)
Metco Rear Trailing arms (adjustables Uppers)
Kyb Shock (may change)
Eibach Springs Front and Rear
SS brake lines
SS fuel line
Summit Rear end Griddle
Moser 1350 Yoke
Poly body mounts
All poly bushing in the rear
Upper/lower Global West Control arms
B-body Spindles(for Sale)
Hotchkis 1 3/8 hollow sway bar
Agr Quick Ratio steering box.

Anyways I do have pics not the greatest but I do. I will have a guy custom make me a rear sway bar since I am 4" narrow then a factory chassie. Also I will be ordering ATS Motor mounts soon. and then Hopfully will get my baer 13" brake and my tourqe Thrust II rims 17X9.5 W/275/40ZR17 Up front and rear 17X11 W/315/35ZR17.

Anyways I am glad to be apart of the Forum I hope I can recieve help while going through my conversion with also helping other from what I know and will learn. I will post pics on a different topic.

Thank You Randy

Traction Control System is always on by default. You have to hit a button to turn it off. Keeps the tires from spinning. You can get the reverse gadget that plugs in behind the switch and the TCS will always be off unless it's turned on. I only turn it on in really bad weather. Only annoying thing is that the TCS OFF light on the dash stays lit all the time.

There are a few Portland\Vantucky guys on here. There are some sweet cars around here just not alot of board members. Where is Knappa?

In fact about 4 years ago we had a track day with about 14 cars show up not a huge turnout but still fun.

Knappa is just a cross road community. About 13 miles east of Astoria. Good car shows around here are the Rod Run to the End of the World at Ocean Park Washington, usualy the week after Labor Day. And the best is in the hidden little town of Vernonia. First weekend of of August. Parade, car show, rodeo, softball,.

Where do you to to the track at? Woodburn?
